so the treasure you seek can be yours!

Notchland’s Green INNtervention guests will have multiple ways to court treasure as they move about the valley, picking up pointers on how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle along the way. 

Each Inn will host a “Twisted Yankee Swap”* which will have items to trade for items the ticket holders have brought with them, reducing the need for new manufacturing (and cash!). 

There will also be a “Green Treasure” item raffled at each Inn and nine raffle tickets are a part of each original ticket purchase.  Additional bonus raffle chances can be awarded prior to the tour based on outlined Green criteria** 

A tried and true idea will be featured too... there will be good old fashion yard/barn/garage sales at several of the inns and along the route between participating inns.  Be aware of “house rules” they may differ between sites, but are concocted in good fun to encourage “proper” negotiations.  Once the bargaining is concluded the local treasures can be recycled from their old home to yours. Be sure to have your ticket validated at each participating inn. 

The names of the ticket holders who visit all of the participating Inns will be entered in a drawing for a $200 gift certificate good toward a stay any of those inns.

*The Twisted Yankee Swap:

To participate each ticket holder should bring at least a few (2-9) gently used “treasures” along with them from home.  They should have a value of $10 - $20 in a garage/yard/stoop/barn sale.  At each participating inn, you will find a Yankee Swap table with 5 to 10 different objects resting upon it, not unlike frogs on a Lily Pad. (here’s the twisted part) You may exchange one of your treasures that you brought from home for one of these...fair trade.  (Leave your frog take your treasure) Or perhaps you just bought “a lamp” at the yard sale along the way, but here on the swap table is one that is even more perfect (leave your frog take your treasure).  You may return home with as many new treasures as you left behind to brighten another’s day!

If you want to be entered in the drawing for the $200 gift certificate be sure to have each inn (9 total) validate your day pass.

**How to qualify for Bonus Raffle Tickets:
Each Inn will have a “Green” Raffle prize on exhibit, which will be awarded at the end of the day.  You will have nine tickets as a Green INNtervention guest to start out, however, your host Innkeeper can award additional free bonus raffle tickets when you meet the following criteria:

You drive a hybrid car
You car pool, with friends who came with you, or other guests you met at the inn.
You choose to wave housekeeping during this stay.
You choose to reuse your towels and linens during this stay
You carry your own refillable and washable beverage container
You carry your own reusable bags or containers to avoid excess packaging

You may play as many tickets as you choose on any  raffle prize as you go (one, all, none) even return later in the day (before 5 PM cut off time) to play any you may have left.
