COVERED BRIDGE EXPERIENCE - Four Days, Three Nights
Theories abound about why bridges were first roofed. Some say that the bridge's heavy timbers lasted longer when protected from the elements. In earlier days, young couples soon took advantage of the privacy covered bridges afforded, and as a result, the bridges came to be known as "courting" or "kissing" bridges. Many of the vestiges of yesteryear still remain today in New Hampshire and Vermont as a reminder of simpler times.
Start your Covered Bridge Experience with any of this trio of historic Passport Inns. Each will be able to help you optimize your travel routes to take in our exceptional scenery and as many of our beloved bridges as your time and interest allows.Even our suggested drives from one inn to the other introduce Covered Bridges as you go on your way.
One night with any inn will acquaint you with a minimum of 10 - 20 bridges. Spend a second night with us and you can be guaranteed the opportunity to double your fun with twice the number of bridges! The choice of how to invest your time is yours; collect more bridge sightings or concentrate your quality time with fewer structures.
