TALK OF THE TOWN - Historic Town Hall Tour

New England is carpeted with small towns and dotted with larger villages and cities. The towns share a common history of government and most of their civic decisions were originally made in Town Meetings. These are a convocation of all the members of the community where the business of the citizens is thrashed out as a committee of the whole. Finally a vote is taken and the matters decided. Today, in the first decade of the 21st century, many New England Towns still carry on that tradition. This is your opportunity to see the places where the meetings are (were) held and meet some of the folks who carry on these civic traditions centuries after their founding.
